Rachel Du Mont-Greenlee holds a B.S. in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly SLO and an M.A. in Social and Urban Anthropology from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Cultural Studies at Claremont Graduate University, where her research uncovers the stories embedded in the structures that shape urban environments. Her work focuses on how cities bridge cultures and histories, finding meaning in every pillar of construction.
Rachel is interested in the politics of place and the role of historical remembrance through spatial awareness. She writes and conducts research on a range of topics, including architecture, urbanism, historical preservation, utopianism, urban gentrification, museum studies, and collective memory. Her academic and creative work explores how spaces—whether in brick and mortar or in the written word—transcend time, preserving the legacies of cultures and histories.
After living in London for several years, Rachel now resides in her native California with her husband and their tabby cat, Scribbles. Through her academic publications and speculative fiction, Rachel is committed to keeping the history of storytelling alive, ensuring that the lessons of the past endure in both the physical and narrative spaces we inhabit.
